2009 La Union Surfing Challenge by Travel Factor

Travel Factor in cooperation with Philippine Organization of Surfers bring you the 2nd SURFVIVOR CHALLENGE at San Juan, La Union. This year’s La Union surfing challenge shall take place on February 7-8, 2009 at Urbiztondo Beach, La Union, near San Juan Surf Resort.

Discover the rush of surfing through surf clinics with the Billabong Surf School. If you’ve already learned the basics, then push yourself into the next level by competing with your fellow beginner surfers in two categories: SURFVIVOR SOLO and SURFVIVOR TANDEM.  The 2nd SURFVIVOR CHALLENGE is for everybody, even for non-surfers! Spectators, photographers, and all beach-lovers are invited too!

You make a quick backward glance and see the incoming mass of blue. The sound of the breaking water becomes louder and you begin to swing your arms wildly, hoping to cause a forward movement. Suddenly your board picks up speed and you begin to feel the wind on your face. And in that final, decisive moment, you gather all your remaining strength to push hard, forcing yourself to spring into a standing position. Surfing now begins.

This event is sponsored by Stoked, Sanuk, Golden Breed, Antonov Vodka and the Billabong Surfschool.
