November 7 2011 Philippine Holiday

Barely 2 weeks after the recent October 31 Philippine holiday declaration, Philippine President Noynoy Aquino has declared November 7, 2011 as regular Philippine holiday to celebrate the Muslim brothers’ “Festival of Sacrifice,” also known as Eid’l Adha.

Proclamation No. 276 made November 7, 2011 as an official regular holiday. This means Filipinos will enjoy two long consecutive weekends since October 31, 2011 is also a Philippine Holiday this year.

Any travel plans or tour schedules brewing on the Philippine holiday of November 7 coupled with the long weekend from November 5? 🙂

  3. please can we respect muslim’s beliefs? for those people who hate having holiday shame on you guys cause u dont do anything productive and tiring. so poor. holidays are for people who make livelihood.

  7. You know what?

It’s people like you, Eds, that make this world a hell lot dirtier and eviler. People like you, racist bastards, need to get a taste of your own fucking medicine. If I was God right now, I’d have you flayed a million times over until your own soul screams in pain.

  11. we should just respect each other and they are also person and they need to commemorate and we should also undrstand that

why do some muslim people becoming rebellions?

it is just simply because they also want respect and not indiscrimination

    so lets respect them 🙂

  13. @pogi: makapagsalita k parang kaya mong maging presidente ah. Puro kyo reklamo, tapos wala kyong ibang maisip kundi pababain s pwesto ang mga presidente…eh anng tanong sinong papalit? kayo? If we will just give credits to what they’ve done, walang problema…always remember isa lng ang presidente kada term mas marami padin tyo, kung tayo ang mgsisimula ng pagbabago uunlad pare-pareho tyo. I agree with Jehnshie ang hirap kc sa ating mga Pilipino puro tayo reklamo eh hindi nmn tyo nkilos para umunlad an Pilipinas
@pogi: makabakla k ah…may issue kb s bakla? don’t you know that gays as well as lesbian are intelligent individuals who can stand for what they are fighting for? unlike you.

  14. Bakit nyo Binoto si PNoy at the First Place?? kung Babatikusin nyo lang naman din sya..
I’m not a Pro Noynoy, But Always respect the Authority…

  15. it would be unfair kung puro rights lang natin as Catholic ang napapansin :/ and please .. Stop throwing words against our president .. kahit mamatay at mabuhay kayo ng limang ulit, he’s still our leader .. Just accept it and let him finish his term.. malapit na naman eh .. :/

  16. HAAIITTZZ… so funny yung mga nagrereklamo direktahin nyo ung government.. :)para masabi nyo ung gusto nyo.. dito kau ngrereklamo ngmumura pa lol.. you think may nagwa ka sa pinost mo wala naman ngbago respect and accept nalang kung ano meron ahaahha…. O.A masyado huh!

  17. Hi Folks,

Differing opinions are welcome in recognition of freedom of expression and so that we can learn from each other as well.

But hate comments with prejudiced name-calling targeted to specific race or group of people shall not be tolerated.

Let us maintain a beneficial and healthy discussion.

    Thank You! 🙂

  18. Everyone has a right to give their own opinion on things, but not to the point that you’ll start calling people names (curse words). AS I’ve always said in other social networks don’t feed the trolls, you’ll only be satisfying them by stooping down on their level. After making your point just move on.

The Philippines is a country for everyone. Statistics say that most of the country’s population is Catholic, but there are also Muslims, Agnostics, Atheist, Hindus, etc. It is nice that every once in a while that he government recognize these so called minorities. Plus, what is there to complain about? Just take it as it is. If you don’t want this holiday, then what can you do? Rant? Complain? but will it change anything? Will the holiday be removed?

  19. Still confused kung bakit mas dineklara pa na holiday ang October 31st when it should be November 2nd dahil ‘yun ang All Souls Day…

  20. Hi Skylla,

I think mainly because it has been already a tradition in the Philippines to observe All Saints Day for the reposed loved ones instead of the actual All Soul’s Day. 🙂

BAKIT????IKAW LANG BA ANAK NG DIYOS????dva??!!!
