Calendar ?
Today, Malacanang declared November 16, 2010 (Tuesday) as an official national Philippine holiday in observance of Eid’l-Adha (or Islam’s Feast Of Sacrifice).
Eid’l-Adha represents the 10th day of Zhul Hijja (12th month of the Islamic calendar) and is one of two greatest feast of Islam. It was a regional holiday limited to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in the previous years and was not part of national Philippine Holidays then.
The Aquino administration did not move the Eid’l-Adha holiday to a Monday nearest the weekend as the previous administration used to do. Many regular employees will surely rejoice due to this unexpected new Philippine Holiday.
