Raining or not, summer has definitely arrived in the Philippines, albeit belatedly. But this didn’t stop me and a group of friends from taking some time off for a vacation at Philippine’s summer capital – Baguio – as early as last month. We stayed in Eurotel Baguio.

This is my first time in Eurotel Baguio having only opened October of last year. In fact, this is my first time in any Eurotel for that matter; even though there are a lot of branches here in Metro Manila.

Anyhow, let me share with you my personal review of the place with the 3 day-2 night stay we had in Baguio and Eurotel.

The Hotel

Typical of hotel chains, the Baguio hotel building resembled the same look similar in all Eurotel branches with the signature green and red striking colors that separates Eurotel Hotels from the others.

We were greeted by the spacious lobby upon entering. With a hint of Europe, the 3-star hotel lobby exceeded my expectations. The receptionists were hospitable and the mood continued upto the elevator lifts.

I got the Standard Twin room which has 2 single beds, a 22″ LCD TV with cable, and safety deposit box (which I don’t really use). :P. It is also packaged with a complementary buffet breakfast.

I’m glad that there was an extra corner space for a cozy table and chair set. However, instead of a window with a view, I had translucent glass bricks for a window. It’s my first time to have such and hoped for a view of Baguio instead. I’ve read from other blogs though, that there are some rooms with windows.

It has the usual toilet amenities and the shower comes with hot water which is very important to me. I think Bath tubs are available for suite rooms but I really don’t mind not having one. However, I prefer shower enclosures over curtains.

Others

Wifi is available in the rooms which needless to say, is very important for blogger like me. 🙂 I also love the fact that a 3-star hotel like Eurotel exerted effort to extend the ‘European theme‘ of the hotel upto the room interiors. All rooms have photo murals of European landmarks.

Hotel Amenities:

  • Wifi
  • Aircon w/ hot & cold water
  • 24 hr room service
  • Spa at the ground floor
  • 22″ LCD TV with cable
  • safety deposit box

Lastly, they do have a full-service spa at the ground floor called Spa de Soleil. I got a full body massage on the second night and they have complete spa treatments and a steam room! One just have to get that full body massage after a day of traveling.

At PhP 3,000 for my Single Twin room, it doesn’t come cheap considering the number of available accommodations which offers lower prices in Baguio City. Nonetheless, the Hotel offers the comfort and ambiance of a midrange hotel in a secure setting.

We were offered the opportunity to see the other rooms too. Here are some of the photos and price list:

You may also try to catch promo offers by Eurotel which comes quite often specially during off peak seasons. Last year, they were able to offer 30% to as much as 70% off in room rates. You can also check cheap holidays from Travelmatch.

Eurotel is commonly associated with other ‘short-time‘ hotels here in the metro. On the contrary, and surprisingly as well, they are not.

I got to converse with one their officers named Ivan, and knew from him that Eurotel can actually cater to families and businesses.

This was evident in the multi-purpose function rooms Ivan and his group showed me in the hotel. The function rooms can house classroom and seminar types of business conferences and is flexible enough to accommodate upto 300 guests.

For the less formal gatherings, they can be a venue for birthdays, wedding receptions, and parties with their readily installed videoke system projected on a big screen. Our group of friends actually tried it for a few hours on the first night and it was a blast. 🙂

My perception of Eurotel Hotels has made a complete turn around. And I believe they will continue to focus on the family and business oriented approach of packaging Eurotel Hotels.

With 66 rooms in 6 floors, it’s generally good business for Eurotel Baguio. They are looking forward to expanding soon by adding new floors to meet the ever-growing tourist accommodation demands of Baguio City.

  1. I am planning on staying at the eurotel in baguio on a 21 day vacation in may. I have never been to the philippines, so I want dot ask you what type of wall sockets are in the eurotel rooms. will I need an adapter for my macbook pro and my ipod to use them in the room?

  2. Hi Seamuis. You can buy a Universal adaptor for your Mac devices in almost all hardware stores here in the Philippines for only less than P100 or $2. You may call Eurotel Baguio at +63 (02) 8611086, +63 (074) 442-0374, +63 (074) 444-3876, +63 (074) 424-8056, +63 (074) 424-8055 and you can ask them directly if they can provide you a universal adaptor and you can transact your reservation with them. For more information, visit there website at http://www.Eurotel-hotel.com. Thanks.

  3. Most laptops have a 110-240 volt input. If they do no adapter is needed. Just look at your power supply and it will tell you what is the input.

  4. Sorry to confuse you with the universal adaptor thing. Just want to clarify that I was talking about the universal socket adaptor. Thanks.
