Situated at the 0km landmark, the Sabah Tourism Board was our jump off point in the recent Cebu Pacific Backpacker Challenge in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia.
After a filling 7am breakfast at the Gaya Center Hotel, all ten of us consisting of 8 media people and 2 travel bloggers left the hotel thinking that it will be our last decent breakfast from September 20 down to the next three days of the challenge. 🙂

Sabah Tourism Board Chairman YM Dato Seri Tengku Zainal Adlin
Thank God for a sunny and bright morning well suited to start the travel challenge.
After a few blocks from the hotel, we reached the Sabah Tourism Board office. No other than Sabah Tourism Board chairman YM Dato Seri Tengku Zainal Adlin welcomed us. It was our first time to meet him because he wasn’t able to join us in the Malaysian dinner at Port View Seafood Restaurant the night before due to prior commitments.

He briefly welcomed us and explained that the Sabah Tourism Board is an agency of the Sabah State Government of Malaysia whose primary function is marketing and promotion of tourism for Sabah, Malaysia; hence their support for the travel challenge.
We got a quick photo of the group before splitting up and the chairman bade us well and goodbye.
Let the games begin! Let’s Go Sago! 🙂
