DOT and Bonamine recently partnered together to promote domestic tourism in the Philippines with a catchy phrase of “Basta Pinas, Biyahe Tayo.”

The “Basta Pinas” domestic travel advocacy initiative was launched last week in support of the DOT’s ‘Pilipinas, Tara Na!‘ campaign. Fellow travel bloggers Ivan Henares and Ivan Man Dy hosted the event.

Roughly translating as “Philippines, lets travel,” the Department of Tourism and Bonamine’s campaign sought to invite Filipinos to travel around the  Philippines with a fresh perspective.

Bonamine first launched ‘Tara Na! Biyahe Tayo!’ in 2003 which was very successful.

The domestic-travel advocacy signed on 21 OPM artists to sing an invitation to travel around the Philippines.

We appreciate the assistance of private institutions such as Johnson & Johnson in encouraging our countrymen to rediscover the Philippines’ natural beauty and rich culture — for us to realize that our country has so much more to offer…This collaboration will help in getting information on our country’s hidden charms to a wider audience and we are looking forward to seeing more Filipinos traveling within the Philippines,” DOT Secretary Alberto Lim said.
