Club Manila East Weekend

An alternative vacation spot from far flung beaches and tourist destinations in the provinces are nearby man-made resorts. And for those in Metro Manila, Club Manila East in Taytay Rizal is one of the choices.

After about 5 years since I first went there in 2006, the seven-hectare business and leisure complex of Club Manila East Taytay (CME Central) now has new water attractions in the resort, namely CME BeachWaves and CME Oceanwaves.

Of course, I will not pass up on the experience to try them both. The CME BeachWaves is a 19,000 square foot giant wave pool, about the size of four basketball courts combined. You can ride and body surf along the waves. We jump from the pool floor to reach up facing the incoming waves. I say it’s a simulation of what it feels like being in the ocean. It gradually deepens towards a maximum depth of 6 to 8 feet with wave patterns of up to 4 feet high.

The CME Oceanwaves, on the other hand, has a stronger push and more frequent waves simulating smaller waves ideal for surfing. It’s a simulated wave pool that mimics ocean waves. With this, they partnered with the Philippine Surfing Academy to provide a simulated surfing experience. They also offer surfing lessons with the comfort of consistent waves produced by the CME Oceanwaves machines.

In fact, the 2nd CME Surfing Cup was held on the same day for which we were invted to cover. Here are some photos from the event.

  1. This is awesome. Pool with waves. I wish I can get to Manila this year, particularly here at Club Manila East . Thanks for sharing your adventure. Cheers! 🙂

  2. Worst experience. Someone broke inside our room while me and my family were swimming. Before leaving the room, we made sure that the doors were locked, both from the adjoining door connecting the other room and the main door. When we went back, my camera bag including lenses are missing including my wife’s iPhone. We were only thankful that only these things were taken, but what if my kids are inside the room and someone broke in. Who knows what might happen.

I wouldn’t recommend Club Manila East, especially if you have with you your cameras or some gadgets. Security in the area is very poor. The only security we saw is in the main entrance. In the area where overnight accommodation is, there are no security in sight. This happened June 18, 2011.

  3. OMG, I thought I was the only one who has a problem with security in this place. Someone broke in our room also (April 2011) and stole my Canon 7D, Nintendo DS, and my kid’s PSP. The staff wasn’t helpful at all. It took hours for someone to help us. It seemed like every one in management was off that day. It was ridiculous. They should be ashamed because according to their website:
“Mission: To provide a caring and delightful hospitality environment and service to all our recreational, leisure and business clientele.” Now that one is hilarious.

Just a warning…DO NOT STAY HERE, unless you want your hard-earned valuables stolen…then go at it!
    DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

  5. hi.. may i ask if how much is the entrance fee??and the cottage or room.. do you have any promotions specially this summer and holiday?? thanks
