Fun Shopping w/ Friends @ SM Southmall

SM Southmall is undoubtedly far from my place – Quezon City. But when friend and momblogger Ruth invited the gang (me, my fiance Marjorie, and Noks) over to SM Southmall for “The Big Sale” at the south where they live, we had to give in. 🙂
I thought that it was also a good time to shop and catch up with lost times. It has also been a while since I last traveled with friends way down south. As they say, it’s the journey and whom you are with which matters most.
We arrived just in time – a little past 10am which is the mall opening. Our meeting place was Our Home – the favorite place of the two girls since Ruth is already a mother and my fiance who simply love home furniture.

Blogger friends as we are, we can’t help but be online and make our presence public…through Twitter! 🙂

After lunch and some catching up, we proceeded on the highlight activity of the day – shopping! We went around the whole SM Southmall. From SM Supermarket. to Ace Hardware, and more!

We also didn’t pass up the chance to have a photo with the iconic life-size “SALE” standees in the main lobby of SM Southmall.

The most time we spent at was the SM Department Store where the ladies ransacked the bags section. The ladies spent so much time I think Noks and I began to like them too! 🙂

To solve the dilemma, I suggested to the gang that Noks and I will split to get some personal stuffs for a while.
Personal Shopping
Sale, sale, sale everywhere! 20%-50%-70% off! There were just so many great buys!

I initially saw some Philippine-inspired mugs at the Kultura with inscribed words printed with the Department of Tourism’s hot slogan for Philippine toursim “It’s more fun in the Philippines!” It’s on promo sale at “Buy 5 Take 1!”

But, it is the “Pilipinas” boxer shorts from Walker in the Men’s Underwear section which caught my attention best.

I can almost say “It’s more fun in Pilipinas!” 🙂 From the original price of P279.75, it’s at 20% off so it became just a little bit over P200. There were two other variants representing different countries including a yellow-and-green boxer shorts for ‘Brazil.’
My next target item was a pair of sunglasses. I’ve scanned around and I found an amazingly affordable P100 shades from MSense! I can’t believe how cheap it is so I asked a new stock from the salesman and immediately got one for myself.

I’ve always wanted to buy a pair of socks for my new five-fingers shoes. And what more suiting socks for that but a five-fingers socks as well. 🙂 And I found one from the Bio-Fresh brand.

Moving further, I found my favorite ‘charcoal‘ socks which eliminates foot odor. I have about two pairs and I can say they are effective so I decided to purchase 3 pairs of ‘charcoal’ socks for back-up for only P150. It basically converts to only P50 per pair! That’s wise-spending, I should say!

And with the ‘blogger’ persona once again calling, I just had to tweet all the good deals I got! 🙂

Payment at the counter was also swift and easy.
It’s good that I have my SM Advantage Card (through BDO Rewards Card) to rack up some extra points. 🙂 If I had been here yesterday, I could have gotten an extra 10% off on all my purchases in SM-affiliated stores from 10am-12nn! It’s one perk of an SM Advantage card holder during SM Mall sales.

A little past our meet-up time, I guess it was time to hit the counter where I realized all the discounts and further ‘class discounts‘ I got as reflected in the receipt.
It feels good and comforting when you can see how much you’ve saved! 🙂
Moreover for lucky shoppers, they could also join special raffles at a certain minimum amount of purchase where they could win one of 5 iPads up for grabs!
Another promo is giving away 150 Samsung Tab 7.0 – that’s 150!

The Reunion
When we met up again, the gang cannot help but compare the good deals each of us got. Unplanned and unintentional, the two ladies got big packages filled with dresses and bags while us guys got small bags filled with ‘man’ stuff. 🙂

After that tiring shopping, we indulged ourselves and took our merienda at Black Canyon Coffee with our day’s loot.
It was an awesome and fun get-together with old friends in the south. And SM Southmall’s “The Big Sale” just made it better and more fun. I think I will have to visit this place a little more often from hereon. Indeed, “It’s more fun shopping in SM Southmall!“
