Zest Air Inaugural Flight to Kuala Lumpur a Success
Zest Air made history today as it completed its maiden flight to Kuala Lumpur when their Airbus A320 aircraft left Manila from the Ninoy Aquino International AIrport (NAIA) Terminal 3 (originally Terminal 4) late afternoon via flight Z2948.
It landed in Kuala Lumpur International Airport at about 10pm+ (GMT +8) and subsequently left KLIA at 11pm+ via Z2949 flight. Regular flights thereafter would have an earlier departure and arrival. Zest Air flights to Kuala Lumpur happens every Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Courtesy of Toursim Malaysia and Zest Air, Let’s Go Sago and 9 other bloggers from the Philippines had the opportunity to join this landmark maiden flight with Zest Air’s Airbus 320 (A320) with a 180-seating configuration and wide-legroom.
As part of this development, the 4th largest carrier in the Philippines hopes to double its number of international passengers from to 220,000 international passengers in 2011 to almost half a million this year.
Zest Air currently has at least 15 aircrafts flying over 19 domestic destinations and seven international destinations including Incheon and Busan (South Korea); Jinjiang, Quanzhou and Shanghai (China), and Taipei (Taiwan) from Kalibo & Cebu. Kuala Lumpur is Zest Air’s second direct international flight from Manila (the first was Jinjiang, China since last April).
Watch out for future international destinations including Bangkok, Seoul, Hong Kong and Singapore routes.

As of this writing, we are aboard the KTM Commuter train en route to the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station; after which the bloggers split to different Malaysian states while I am headed to Negeri Sembilan.
