Sago Votes for a Brazil Bound Havaianas Happy Sole

After months of road tours and promotions, Havaianas unveiled early this month the top ten happiest entries for the Havaianas “Happy Soles Will Travel to Brazil ” contest.

Havaianas enthusiasts were asked to submit video entries answering the question, “If anything was possible, what would you do to make the world happy for a day?”

“We are so pleased with the overwhelming response from Havaianaticos for this creative competition. With the huge number of entries, the judges were really entertained and had a hard time judging.” said Anne Gonzalez, Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines. “

Havaianas panel of judges, composed of Preview magazine Editor-in-Chief Pauline Suaco-Juan, Embassy of Brazil Diplomat Tiago Silva Almeida, Capoeira guru Professor Fantasma Coqueiro, famed travel blogger Anton Diaz and Havaianas Philippines Managing Director Anne Gonzalez, had a hard time time selecting the top ten happiest and most creative out of more than 2000 entries .

And now, the ten finalist from all over the Philippipnes including Manila , Cebu, Davao , Caloocan , Leyte, and Bacolod who are one step closer to an all-expense–paid holiday to Brazil are:  Ynez Alcid, Aurea Joanna Anden, Justin Ace de Guzman, Joya Genzola, Denise Gonzales, Farrah Lapinid, James Lu, Hannah Reyes, Katrina Suiza, and Maria Velasquez.

My personal top six includes James Lu‘s entry for its ‘fun‘ factor. Thumbs up for Denise Gonzales simply daring video and her musical talent (seriously). Third comes the oozing confidence of Justin De Guzman. When it comes to video editing, Katrina Suiza‘s video editing is superb but I seem to want more, I hoped it was made longer.  Aside from that, I like Hannah Reyes‘ color play and style. It was good to watch. These last two actually comprise my top three.

And finally, Sago’s Favorite Havaianas HappySole Video ….. is….. Aurea Joanna Anden‘s ‘Chilhood Moments‘.

The video editing is commendable and is able to achieve the dramatic effect it needed. It made me want to become a child again – innocent, carefree, and simply happy. On the technical side, I think there’s a minor glitch since there was an extra loop in the recording such that the video made a repeat but without audio. Other than that, this is my sure winner. 🙂
