Bound for Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia
This is it! It’s Showtime! Sago is going to Kota Kinalbo Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.
For those following this travel blog, it is no secret that this is part of the prize we won in the Cebu Pacific Backpacker Challenge a few months ago.
And since it is semestral break, it is the best time for me to take this trip with a relative tagging along. it would be my second in Malaysia but first in Kota Kinabalu!
Last week, I booked our flight to KK at Cebu Pacific‘s Robinson’s Galleria ticketing office. This would only be my second time to book offline. Grant tickets such as this one I got as prize cannot be redeemed online and has to be transacted over the counter at a Cebu Pacific ticketing office.
Here I learned that there are three Kota Kinabalu Cebu Pacific flights weekly from/to Manila which flies every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
I contacted the Sabah Tourism Board – State Government of Sabah, Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Environment. We exchanged emails for the hotel accommodations and city tour schedule.
To enumerate it, we are spending 4 days and 3 nights in Kota Kinabalu with:
- Hotel accommodations for two persons on twin sharing basis with breakfast
- Return Airport transfers
- City Tour for 2 persons care of Sabah Tourism Board
I would like to thank Tracelynn of Sabah Tourism Board who has been very accommodating.
They call Kota Kinabalu the “Land Below The Wind!” In a few days, I will personally know why. I won’t be climbing the World Heritage Site Mt. Kinabalu since I’m going with an older relative.
It would be more of a chill-out relaxing Malaysian vacation over the weekend. I’ll be sharing our experiences and photos soon! Happy upcoming long weekend for those in the Philippines since it’s a Philippine holiday on Monday 🙂
