Traveling with Lock & Lock
The brand Lock & Lock has long been in the Philippine food market together with other quality plastic container brands. In fact, my lunch box in high school was a Lock&Lock as well. 🙂
However, it was only recently since I became aware that Lock&Lock is not just about plastic containers. They also have cookwares and other related products such as Glass Boroseal, CookPlus (vitamin, ceramics, stainless), and MicroOven Glasswares (Borosilicate Glass) which are all microwave-friendly.
Borosilicate glass is considered more safe than tempered glass in terms of spontaneous breakage and formation of harmful chemicals while the CookPlus is layered with Ecolon and is PFOA-free (Perfluorooctanoic Acid).
Lock & Lock for Travel
What surprised me more are the Lock & Lock travel-related products that I saw when we were invited to visit the Lock&Lock Plus Store as their new gallery and branch along Araneta Avenue in Quezon City, Philippines.
First is the Lock & Lock Smartbag which is very practical for travelling. It saves space in your luggage by compressing the air off your shirts and clothing by folding/rolling the bag. You basically roll out the air.
There is also a variant which uses a type of vacuum to suck out the air. This is a bit more expensive than the first one I got but it’s easier to use.
The second travel-related Lock & Lock product is this Lunch Bag Set that comes complete with utensils and multiple compartments.
Although it looks like a school lunch box set, this is perfect for camping.
A similar bag would be this cooler bag perfect for storage of frozen goods and cold liquids such a juices.
Lastly are the Lock & Lock sports bottles. I was amused at the number of variants of the sports bottles differing in the type of plastic, handles, covers, and more. There are some which are suitable for cold liquids only as there are some good for hot liquids.
I also learned that although you can use them alternatively, it is advised that if you have used the container for hot liquid once, you should use them always for the same purpose. Switching from hot to cold and vice versa may reduce the effectivity of the container in preserving the intended temparature.
Feel free to visit a number of Lock & Lock stores including the following branches:
- Shangri-la Mall
- Eastwood City
- Glorietta 4
- Lucky Chinatown Mall
- Alabang Town Center
- Banilad Town Center, Cebu City
- Inside leading department stores nationwide.
You may also want to get the Lock & Lock Membership Card to be eligible for exclusive promos and discounts. Check out their Facebook as well for more products at https://www.facebook.com/LocknLockPhilippines
I can’t wait to use my Lock & Lock Smartbags for my next travel gig! 🙂
