I visit my relatives in Lipa Batangas during the holidays and pass by its national highway. But my latest visit to Batangas had a different destination – it was the Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas.

We had lunch at the Asian Flavours restaurant for their Anniversary Fiesta buffet special as part of their first anniversary celebration last October7, 2010.

It focused on Filipino cuisines with southern style Chicken Broth, a variety of ensaladas, lumpiang gulay, inihaw na liempo, tanglad roast chicken, kalderetang Bakang-Batangas and Sago’t gulaman, among others.

Their kalderetang baka was commendable while I’d recommend the Enselada with Crispy Dilis/Tawilis and Ensalandang Labanos with tinapa. Lastly, their Chicken Binakol has the authentic native broth taste.

Although this buffet menu is a one-time thing, Asian Flavours still do have “Payday Buffet” which offers ‘eat all you can‘ lunch and dinner every 15th and 30th of the month at P250 net.

Moreover, others dishes were served including Arugula Salad with Toasted Adobo Flakes. Paired with red onion dressing, this is healthy, light, and highly recommended.

For desserts, I recommend the Coffee Jelly topped with vanilla ice cream.

If there would ever be a next visit, I look forward to having Salmon Sinigang recommended by Chef Paul Poblador which is described as poached Norwegian salmon (Japanese miso style) with traditional vegetables. A dessert called Calamansi Lime Pie with Yema Bonbons is also in the list. It’s an Asian Flavours version of the Key Lime Pie.
