Park Inn by Radisson Opens in Davao
About two weeks ago, I visited once again my favorite city in southern Philippines – Davao! Known as the largest city in the world, it now houses the first Park Inn Davao by Radisson hotel in the country.
Park Inn by Radisson Grand Opening
With the tagline “Adding Colors to Life,” the night of celebration was also filled with the same and more. Together with other media outfits, we were able to witness the Park Inn by Radisson Davao grand opening last March 23, 2013.
It is part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group network which opens up opportunities with 10 million Global Club Carlson members. They manage Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu which opened up two years ago.
The launch highlighted the hotel as the first ‘next generation‘ mid-scale Park Inn by Radisson in Asia Pacific. With guests from international Park Inn head honchos and executives from the SM Hotels & Conventions group led by Ms. Elizabeth Sy, and SM Group head Hans Sy.
The hotel chain has presence in the US, Canada, and Asia. Globally, there are 128 Park Inn by Radisson hotels with 67 more to be added soon including those rising in Clark, Pampanga, SM North Eda Complex, Bacolod, and Iloilo
Target Market
The hotel aims to serve mainly business and mid-range leisure travellers who apprecaites a cozy and decent hotel to stay in, but without too much fancy.
They give straight forward service for guest satisfaction. Reserve the exuberance for 4 to 5 star hotels.

Park Inn Davao also revealed that same night their celebrity endorser in the image of Georgina Wilson. Fittingly representing the hotel brand with an adventurous spirit as a Filipina-British model and VJ, Georgina embodies the beauty, individuality, and youthful fervor of the Park Inn brand.
Rooms & Swimming Pool in Photos
Park Inn Davao hotel stands with 7 floors housing 204 rooms with view options towards SM Lanang Premier on one side and Samal Island on the other.
A fitness center, a mid-size swimming pool, and a kiddie pool is also located at the second floor with a mini p0ol bar-restaurant on the side. It operates as early as 6am upto 7 in the evening.
On the same floor, the connecting bridge to the adjacent SM Lanang Premier mall can be found.
The Inn is a Hotel
Although the name bears the word “Inn,” Park Inn is actually a 3-star hotel with the above-mentioned facilities.
Mr. Barlow further explained that it had “Inn” in its name simply because ‘Inns‘ were equivalent to modern-day hotels since centuries ago.
RBG Bar & Grill
RBG Bar & Grill is the only hotel restaurant who also hosts the buffet breakfast in the morning. More about RBG Bar & Grill in the food blog NomNom Club soon.
Our Experience
We had a great two-night stay at the hotel starting from the colorful and cozy reception area. The elevators are quick enough and limited access depending on your target floor for security purpose.
The room doors uses RFID technology and the air conditioning system, easy to control. The bed linens and pillows were very comfortable.
Aside from the flat Samsung LCD TV and adequate closet space for a couple, the bathrooms was also well kept. We had to request for a dental kit, however. The see-through shower area and colorful walls of the rooms lend the modern vibe in character to Park Inn hotels.
As bloggers, the best part of our stay was the complimentary high speed internet inside the rooms and the lobby.
SM Lanang and More
Although far from the main downtown of Davao.City, Park Inn Davao is strategically located just minutes away from the airport and beside SM Lanang Premier. Moreover, the new SMX Convention Center inside the aforementioned mall is expected to bring the bulk of the hotel guests to Park Inn Davao which has 4 meeting rooms and that can each accommodate 45 persons.

A number of nearby tourist attractions also surround the area including the Crocodile Park, the TribuK Mindanawon cultural exposure, the Davao Zorb Park experience, Zip City (zipline), and a Davao White-Water Rafting adventure.
