Experiencing Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort
As promised in an earlier post, Sago‘s summer this year’s started in Cebu. It’s our second time to fly with PAL and it’s the big plane with 3 column sets that seats more than a hundrcozyed people.
We saw a friendly banner at Cebu’s Mactan International Airport right after a warm welcome from the airport transfer personnel of Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort where we would be staying for 2 days and 2 nights.
Together with 6 friends, we are all excited as it would be our first time to stay in Maribago. It took us about half an hour from the airport to the beach resort which is also in Mactan Island.
Pool Area
We were greeted with the picturesque lagoon-type swimming pool area at the center of the compound and beside their inhouse spa center and juice bar – Amuma Spa.
We had a 15-min Amuma foot massage before entering our Deluxe room for two. The accommodation was cozy but I have to say that the rest room was huge with bath tub.
Allegro Restaurant
The package stay came with a themed dinner at another pool area beside Allegro Restaurant which served international cuisine buffet complete with entertainment for the Luau and Barrio Fiesta theme.
Oyster Bar
We had a peek of the night beach and headed directly to the Oyster Bar nearby to enjoy and blissfully end the night. The Oyster Bar is an open-air cocktails bar by the beach.
By the Beach
The sun shone brightly the next morning which provided better opportunity for better photos. I took some more shots of the beach after the buffet breakfast, again from Allegro. I had to prevent myself from jumping into the water as we have to immediatley leave for the Cebu Heritage Tour. (Let’s skip the Cebu city heritage tour for now as it’s reserved for the next post.) 🙂
Amuma Hilot from Amuma Spa
We came back to Maribago late in the afternoon very tired from the tour and I really appreciated the 90-min “Amuma Hilot” signature massage from Amuma Spa that night. Ahhh. 🙂
The Cove
But before that, of course, dinner. You wouldn’t want to miss the authentic seafood dinner at the Cove inside Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort where you could choose your live and fresh seafood dinner straight from their salt water eco-friendly aquarium system. It’s amazing how they directly circulate the salt-water from the sea and back.
Seashell Chandelier
Don’t forget to lift your sights and admire the thousands-shell chandelier centerpiece on the ceiling of Maribago’s The Cove Seafood Restaurant.
The Amazing Floating Beds
Lastly, we were able to peek into the resort’s newest beach side rooms which boasts of so-called ‘floating beds‘ which literally has no feet touching the floor. Check out the picture below.
We can only hope that we got our accomodations in these rooms but it’s all occupied and reserved those nights. 🙁

It was an amazing and relaxing, but short stay in Cebu‘s Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort. Hopefully next time, we can get to try out the island’s physical beach activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, and some beach party.
