Oktoberfest Manila in Sofitel Soon!
Did you know that as early as September, ‘Oktoberfest‘ is already being celebrated in Germany due to weather considerations? In many ways, the same is true for the Philippines such that we are already prepping up as early as September just like with Sofitel’s upcoming 74th Oktoberfest Manila.
The Oktoberfest Manila 2012 will be made possible by Sofitel Philippine Plaza in cooperation with The German Club Manila as revealed in a press conference at the hotel earlier this month. Expectedly, San Miguel Beer – the leading beer brand in the Philippines, is one of the major sponsors of the event. It will be characterized by a celebration of traditions, entertainment, and authentic Bavarian food with drinks symbolic of the authentic Oktoberfest.
The 74th Oktoberfest Manila shall be held at the newly refurbished Harbor Garden Tent this coming October 19 to 20, 2012. It shall be decorated with the Bavarian colors of white and blue, authentic Oktoberfest tables and benches, and of course – a festive beer garden fair setting in line with the Munich Oktoberfest vibe. Ladies will be in dirndls (German traditional dress) while men will be in lederhosen (leather breeches).
In the Oktoberfest press conference, we were served with Oktoberfest delicacies prepared by Sofitel executive Chef Eric Costille. Ice cold beer were also free-flowing in all tables even if it was still noontime. 🙂 Here is a brief photo-essay of different kinds of German sausages for your indulgence.
