It has been a little more than a year since I last stepped on Singapore soil. Singapore holds a special place in Sago’s heart because it was the first travel destination we visited outside of the Philippines.
Let’s Go Sago intentionally focused on local travels for it’s first year so the blog about that trip has not yet been published.
And this year, it’s good to be going back to Singapore, made extra special with the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards. The Philippine Blog Awards for Luzon and Visayas was just concluded and now, Asia-Pacific’s first and biggest regional blog awards!
There was some sort of premonition as Sago was invited by the Singapore Tourism Board late last month for the launch of their Pinoy-inspired Singapore site PinoyLah, to attract Filipino travellers to Singapore.
Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards
Led by Nuffnang, Singapore Tourism Board (Uniquely Singapore), and Pringles, the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards is bringing a big number of bloggers from all over Asia-Pacific including Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines to the awards night on October 23, 2009! Check their site HERE.

Pan Pacific Ballroom
They willl be sponsoring our transportation and accommodation in Singapore. I have received the Cebu Pacific ticket they sent days before and we’ll be staying at Link Hotel near Tiong Bahru Road. The awards night will be a black tie gala dinner to be held at the Pan Pacific Singapore Grand Ballroom attended by big names from the blogosphere and Asian Showbiz celebrities including host Allan Wu. Performances from Asia’s elite professional magic duos, J C Sum & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning and Singapore’s electrifying rock band Electrico should also be expected.
Filipino Blogger Finalists
Let’s Go Sago! is not a finalist but we are cheering on for eight fellow Filipino bloggers who did! They are:

Top 5 finalists in each category can be viewed here. (Thanks to Jehzlau Concepts for the list and images)
Blogger’s Singapore Tour

Singapore Tour
But wait there’s more!
They would also be treating us to a Bloggers’ Singapore Tour with planned itinerary the next day for Clark Quay, Singapore Royal Selangor Pewter Museum, Singapore Flyer, Esplanade Theater, Merlion Park, Chinatown Heritage Museum, Maxwell Food Centre, URA Museum, Raffles Hotel, Mint Museum of Toys, Bugis Street, Orchard Road, and other attractive tourist and local destinations.
Sadly, I missed Jurong Park last year and will probably miss it again this time.
Our third day will be spent on free and personal time. (woot!) We leave Singapore and be back in Manila in the evening of Oct 25.
I’m so excited as this is more than just a regular travel gig with Sago, I will be enjoying it with other fellow bloggers! Singapore, here we come lah!
