They say that “Women are hungry for love, while Men are just hungry.”

This aptly fits Greenwich’s newly released Overloaded Extreme Cheese Pizzas: the Philly Cheese Steak Overload and Monster Cheese & Pepperoni Pizza.

Men love Pizza

From the earlier overloaded extreme cheese pizza campaign with John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo, the sequel added Chris Tiu in the line up. Still focusing on the “cheesy” aspect, Greenwich added the “meaty” concept with the male consumer in mind.

Men Love Meat

Rarely would you see guys hanging out together over cakes and sweets (Sago sometimes do though). The choices are either pork chops, steaks, ribs, sisig, lechon and crispy pata. They are the so-called men-food.

I think it was actually a good marketing campaign: to tap the meat-hungry side of men with a humorous “cheesy” hindsight attached to it as seen through their new TV commercials.

This is after having Anne Curtis endorse the lasagna.

The Verdict

And now, dropping the John Lloyd endorsement and funny-witty commercials, we come down to the product itself.

Sago and I got the chance to try both products and we ended with the following conclusion:

The Pepperoni Overload was visually appealing where the volume of pepperoni fulfilled its promise of having 100% more of it than before. Taste-wise, Sago is not really a  pepperoni pizza fan. One thing’s for sure, it’s a treat for pepperoni lovers.

If ever you’re trying one, go for the thin crust.

Philly Cheesesteak Overload

Billed as a heavyweight pizza overflowing with a half-pound of roast beef and oozing with a double layer of mozzarella and cream cheese – this is for the win. The roast beef bits are sizable and the cheese flavor is really overloaded.

I usually want my pizza thin to appreciate the toppings more rether than the bread .But my serving of the Philly Cheesesteak Overload would be an exception.

I first tried the thin crust slice and I liked it. At first, I didn’t think the thick crust would be any better but since it was at the table, I grabbed one for a bite, anyway. To my surprise, It tasted better. I think it’s the cream cheese which gave me the kick. The thick crust can hold more of the mozzarella and cream cheese better than the thin one.

So I recommend you get the thick crust. It’s really a cheesy and meaty experience. So-so for the Pepperoni Overload, but thumbs up for Greenwich‘s thick crust Philly Cheesesteak Overload.
