Ravioli is Fresh Pasta
Ravioli is the fast food pasta that is not.; because it’s made fresh on location. You would be surprised to find it among the fast food outlets in Robinson’s Galleria’s foodcourt in Ortigas. And as their name carry it, needless to say that ravioliis their specialty.
Raviolis are like a sandwich-pasta where two layers of thin pasta dough covers a filling. The filling is usually meat based, but it could be anything from fish to cheese, and shaped differently.
It was my first time to try Ravioli’s since it opened mid of this year. And Without thinking twice, I ordered Chorizo and Tomato Ravioli. I’m just not going home without tasting their best-selling namesake.
At P130, I thought that the serving might just be a handful, and that the menu board photo was only meant to tease a hungry customer.
But I was wrong, the serving was generous and I was full after the meal. And before I forget, yes, the pasta was al dente as expected, the chorizo flavorful, and the tomato sauce just right.
By the way, I was with two friends and they had the Shrimp Diablo (P95) and the Bacon Carbonara (P78) which we shared. They were both good as well. The Shrimp Diablo was spicy good but the Bacon Carbonara has room for more carbonara sauce.
Simply said, it was a foodcourt experience that didn’t taste like foodcourt.
And what do you know, the market looks good and the owners know it. Come December this year, you would see a bigger and better Ravioli’s in SM Mall of Asia. Not a foodcourt outlet, but as a full-service bistro. Just where it should be. Robinson’s Galleria is Ravioli’s only branch as of now.
A bigger place demand a wider range of menu. And in the same way as they revolutionized freshly made pasta, they’d be introducing Pizza de Pugon. (and I thought they were only for pandesal)
Ravioli’s Fresh Pasta has certainly earned a spot in Sago’s recommended list. Mushroom & Mozzarella Ravioli, you’re next.
