The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 Pitstop @ Legazpi City Bicol

Legaspi City in the Bicol Region is one of the Philippines’ leading tourist destination, and The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 had its episode 5 pit stop here.
World-famous for the Mayon Volcano and surrounding adventure spots and world class resorts like Misibis Bay Resort in Cagraray Island, it was again the opening highlight of TARA episode 6.
Recently, The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 Philippine Teams – The Richards and Lani Pillinger – enjoyed a viewing party with bloggers at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt, Makati.

We watched the rerun of the pit stop in Legazpi City including Misibis Bay Resort, Cagsawa Ruins, and Lignon Hill which offers the best vantage point of Mt. Mayon and the cityscape. The telecast of episode 6 as the pit start in New Zealand followed on action and adventure cable channel AXN.

I got captures of the following on TV:
Couple team Ivan and Hilda with the backdrop of Mayon Volcano.
Team Philippines’ Richard Herrera and Richard Hardin on ATX and the slippery pig-hugging challenge. Legaspi is just a few hours away from Naga City.

The Indian Team was the last to make it in the Philippine pit stop and was eliminated.
On Episode 6 in New Zealand, The Philippine Team was on an early cold morning start at first place.
We also got a peek of the team of Michelle and Claire and TARA host Allan Wu.

Richard Hardin also had to prep up for the Bungee Jump challenge.

In summary, the Richards were able to hold their position until the pit stop at the Peak and won for themselves an extra vacation stay at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Thank you to City of Legazpi and Misibis Bay Resort for the awesome viewing party with the Philippine Teams. Prizes from AXN and the Amazing Race Asia were raffled by The Riches and fellow racer Lani.

The event was initiated by International publicist Joyce Ramirez of PR Asia who also co-produced the Legazpi episode under Executive Producer Michael Mckay and supported by AXN Asia with funding support from Mayor Noel Rosal of Legazpi City in Bicol, business tycoon Elizaldy Co and Atty. Ronald Ang of Sunwest Group of Companies (Sunwest Group owns Misibis Bay Resort, waterfront lifestyle mall Embarcadero de Legazpi, and two posh hotels in this city—Hotel St. Ellis and Hotel Venezia).

Regional tourism director Maria Ong-Ravanilla and Misibis Bay resort manager Ian Varona were ecstatic with the outcome.
“The filming of Amazing Race Asia here will promote Albay as one of the premier tourist destinations in the country,” Ravanilla said in a phone interview.

The Amazing Race Asia is based from the multi-Emmy Award winning US reality TV show produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It has been to 20 countries in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and Africa. Watch episode 7 tonight at AXN 9pm Philippine Time (GMT+8).
