It’s time to level-up your web surfing! Go surfing for real! 🙂 But before doing just that, you should first have the head knowledge or know how.
This is your first April “Be Cool This Summer” activity as we combine the summer’s sun, sand, and surf! Learn the 101 of Surfing from no less than two of the Philippines’ best surfers and icons – Luke Landrigan and Rommel “Okoy” Rojo.
Presented by Golden Breed, Sanuk, ROX, and Travel Factor, listen as surfing myths get busted and get to know the real physical requirements and skills needed for surfing. Moreover, get insider tips on the Philippine’s best kept secret surfing spots from the travel experts of Travel Factor! Upcoming out-of-town surfing camps and clinics will also be discussed later on.

On Jan 28th 1998 the great state of Hawaii issued a condition black making it illegal to enter the ocean do to dangerously high surf deemed humanly impossible to ride let alone survive in. The Eddie Aikau big wave contest was also canceled do to above average high surf. The majority of “professional big wave surfers” sat on the beach watching agog. The Willis brothers Milton and Michael along with Cheyne Horan, Sam Hawk, Ken Bradshaw and Dan Moore made history by surfing the world’s largest waves at outer Log Cabins and showing the rest of the surfing world that what was thought impossible was indeed possible. The Willis brothers were the only surfers to go out twice this day and rode even larger waves at outer Sunset beach. At this moment Milton Willis arguably became the world record holder for the largest waves ever surfed a record that still stands today. Hawaii has not since issued another condition black.
